What does the asterisk mean in "Play Miranda on weekends immediately.*"
Weekend play time is from 12:00am Saturday morning to Sunday night 12:00pm GMT.
Will I be able to buy The Imperial Realm::Miranda from Steam, Epic and GOG?
Maybe some day.
Is there a free demo?
No, sorry.
Will The Imperial Realm::Miranda be available on Linux/MacOS/Android/IOS?
Miranda relies on the unique abilities of the Lair Engine which only supports Windows at this time.
Why doesn't Miranda use Unity or Unreal Engine or CryEngine?
When development started on Miranda, the game engine market was very different. Engines were mostly unaffordable, and none of them could provide the seamless open world or the complicated networking required to support hundreds of avatars for each of the thousands of players. Only one of those limitations has changed in the intervening years.
What languages will The Imperial Realm::Miranda be available in?
Miranda is available in English. We also hope to add French, Spanish, Italian, and German.
What is The Imperial Realm::Miranda's business model?
Miranda is Buy to Play in the model of Guild Wars. There's an initial cost to play the game, and there will be a store for convenience and cosmetic items, but there are no ongoing subscription charges. Miranda can't be free-to-play because it requires powerful servers to simulate hundreds of units for each player.
What are Force Slots/Inventory Slots/Design Slots?
When logging in the player selects the force, or group of units, they want to play with. A Force slot is like a character slot in other games. Inventory slots control the number of unique unit components you can store after you receive them as loot, or purchase them from an in-game vendor. Design slots are the number of custom unit designs each force can have. There are a number of standard designs which count against this limit, but they can be deleted to make room for the player's designs. Inventory and Design slots will be able to be increased in-game, or by purchasing them from the store. Additional Force slots will be available from the store.
Will Miranda have an original soundtrack?
I would love for Miranda to have an original soundtrack. I worked on the trailer music with Benedict Nichols, who is an amazing composer and sound designer, and it would be great to work with him again. That said, developing music for a game is an expensive undertaking so the creation of an original soundtrack will depend entirely on the success of this Early Access program.
Will The Imperial Realm::Miranda have a single-player campaign?
No, it's a massively multiplayer online game.
How often will the game be updated?
The game will be updated periodically during Early Access.
How long will The Imperial Realm::Miranda be in Early Access?
Until it is ready.
Will the price for The Imperial Realm::Miranda change during Early Access or after release?
The price of the game will slowly increase as Early Access progresses until it reaches its full retail price upon release.
Will the Editions offered change during Early Access or after release?
Yes. The plan is to offer unique bonus units and titles during Early Access, Alpha and Beta. Some Editions may be added or removed in the future.
